Winter Alliance Rules
THE SOUTH OF SCOTLAND WINTER ALLIANCE IS DESIGNED TO ENABLE MALE AMATEUR & PROFESSIONAL GOLFERS IN THE SOUTH OF SCOTLAND TO ENGAGE IN COMPETITIVE GOLF FROM OCTOBER TO APRIL, AND TO HELP PROMOTE THE INTEREST OF THE GAME IN OUR REGION. ALL FUNDS RAISED AFTER SUBSIDIARIES ARE PAID GOES TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF JUNIOR GOLF IN THE SOUTH REGION.
All members are accordingly reminded that they must abide by the Rules of Golf, local Club Rules and Regulations at all our meetings, especially the Rules:
All Alliance meetings will operate preferred lies, as per usual local rules.
When a member attends a meeting it is imperative, they must sign in to the event via the host clubs handicap software.
The members must realise every course is different and we must accept the course as set up by the greenkeeper on the day.

Please enter ALL scores in the computer even NR’s.
Scratch section is strokeplay GROSS score.
Seniors section is strokeplay GROSS score.
Junior section is strokeplay GROSS score.
Handicap section is stableford points NET score.
The Order of merits are split into 4 categories SCRATCH, HANDICAP, SENIOR and JUNIOR.
Each OOM is based on the highest oom points won in 4 out 8 events added to the grand final points won.
In the categories Scratch, Handicap and Senior points are awarded for the top 10 scores at regular events, with the points decreasing from 10-1. The minimum points awarded for 10th= will be 0.5 points.
In the Junior category points are awarded for the top 5 scores at regular events, with the points decreasing from 5-1. The minimum points for 5th= will be 0.5 points.
For the Grand Final event points are worth double 20-10 for Scratch, Handicap and Senior and 10-5 for Junior.
OOM prizes are won by the top 5 players in each categories for Scratch ,Handicap and Seniors and for the top 3 players in the Junior’s. No player can win a prize in more than 1 of the OOM category.
