The South of Scotland Juniors reversed the recent result against Ayrshire by beating a strong Cumbria team on Sunday 26 May at the Pines Golf Club, Dumfries by one point. On a beautiful sunny day with a slight breeze, perfect for playing good golf, the South team with four young players making their debut got off to a poor start by losing the morning foursomes by two and a half games to one and a half. However in the afternoon singles the boys went out determined to play better and their fighting spirit and tenacity triumphed and they won by 5 games to 3 to produce a match winning score of six and a half games to five and a half. A magnificent result for which all the boys can be proud.
