David Brodie (Wigtown & Bladnoch) extended his lead at the top of the Order of Merit after the Douglas Maxwell Memorial Cup at Kirkcudbright at the weekend with his tie for fourth place and is now in a strong position to claim the title. A high finish in the Lennox Trophy at Lochmaben this coming weekend could see him claim the spoils with one event to spare.
With second placed Michael Grunwell (Powfoot) away at the Scottish Club Championship at Lundin this weekend it is Martin McNae (Lochmaben) and Craig Hill (D & G) that will be hoping a win can put some pressure on David at the top.
Martin McNae moved into a tie for third with Craig Hill after his 10th place finish at Kirkcudbright and will be looking to make home advantage count in the Lennox Trophy, a competition he has won for the past two years.
Clark Riddick (Southerness) moved up to 6th with his win at Kirkcudbright and will be looking to move into the top five in the final two counting events.
