Following the MacRobert Salver at Stranraer Golf Club on Saturday 23 July and the Brotherston Trophy at Dumfries & County on Sunday 24 July, David Brodie (Newton Stewart) retained his strong lead in the race for the 2016 South of Scotland Order of Merit.
Chris Corbett (D&G) had a very successful weekend by winning the MacRobert Salver on Saturday and gaining top OOM points in the Brotherston Trophy on Sunday and moved above Michael Grunwell (D&G) into second spot. Colin Hamilton (Stranraer) also made a big move of 12 places with second place at Stranraer and sharing top OOM points with Chris at Dumfries & County.
Another to gain considerable points was Kyle McClung (Wigtownshire County) who moved up the leader board from 21st to 13th but it is feared he has left his challenge too late.
The South Championship on Sunday 21 August at Southerness and resulting Match Play Championship will go a long way in determining this years’ OOM winner.
