ORDER OF MERIT UPDATE 24 Aug

Following the South of Scotland Championships at Southerness on Sunday 21 August, David Brodie (Newton Stewart) retained his position at the top of the leader board and Michael Grunwell (D&G) leap frogged over Chris Corbett (D&G) back into second place. Liam Johnston, the new South Champion, made the greatest leap forward by entering the table in 9th place but as he has not entered the Match Play Championship any further influence on the final result seems unlikely.

Andrew Kerr (Crichton), in 11th place, also entered the table for the first time with his two consistent rounds on Sunday and his runner-up placing to Liam. Both Kyle McClung (Wigtownshire County)  and Jamie Parker (Southerness) also made good strides forward but it appears it is going to take an exceptional effort for someone to overtake David.

There are some cracking ties in the first round of the South Match Play Championship this weekend with only Liam of the top seven not competing.
