After his win in the Lennox Trophy at Lochmaben on Saturday 10 September, David Brodie (Newton Stewart) has consolidated his lead in the South of Scotland Order of Merit 2016. With only one competition to go, the Shamash Trophy at Portpatrick on Sunday 25 September, David has a lead of 114.7 points over Michael Grunwell (D&G) in second place.
Michael has to win or be no worse than second and hope that David gets no more than 10 points. Portpatrick is one of David’s favourite courses and he is a Portpatrick specialist and always scores well over the Wigtownshire links.
Neil Hamilton (Powfoot) has moved above Chris Corbett (D&G) into third position with his joint runners-up finish with Andrew Kerr (Crichton). Andrew’s good form continues and he has now moved into the top ten.
