AGM 2014

The Annual General Meeting was held in Castle Douglas Golf Club on Thursday 20 November. The amalgamation of the SGU and SLGA continues to evolve. A new Constitution to comply with the model document issued by SGU was approved. The per capita fee was increased to £3.50. The D & G Golf Partnership is progressing well with major marketing initiatives being introduced to encourage more golfers to visit the area next season. Jim Burns (Stranraer) was congratulated on his pending election to the Vice-Presidency of the SGU. The officials reported on another successful season and Clubs that had hosted matches and competitions were thanked for their hospitality.

The following players were congratulated on achieving national honours:-
Ian Brotherston (D & C) represented Scotland in the Senior Home Internationals and won the SGU Seniors Order of Merit
Scott Gibson (Southerness) and Greig Marchbank (Thornhill) represented Scotland in the Home Internationals
Matthew McCulloch (Portpatrick) and Chris Finnie (Lockerbie) represented Scotland at Under 16 level in International matches.
