JUNIOR ORDER OF MERIT

The Junior Order of Merit Competition came to a conclusion for 2017 with the results from the Junior Jamboree on Friday 27 October. Points are gained by competing and finishing high up the leaderboard in the Junior Open Competitions at Clubs throughout the Area during the season. This is a good way for boys and girls to experience playing on other courses and furthers their development. Nathan Watson, (Kirkcudbright) and Iain Rae (Dalbeattie) at university in Edinburgh and Angus Bendall (Castle Douglas) at college in Gloucester returned home to enjoy their last event as South juniors in the Junior Jamboree at Southerness on Friday 27 October. They had all represented South Juniors for the last 5 years, firstly as young naïve nervous youngsters, and latterly as fine upstanding young adults with a love and aptitude for the game of golf. The final Junior competition of the year will be held at Southerness Golf Club on Friday 27th October. The South of Scotland junior order of merits are all still to play for and this last event will decide the winners. The under 18 section is very close between the top three players.
