INTER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS

On Sunday 21 September the three County teams of Dumfriesshire, Kirkcudbrightshire and Wigtownshire met at Lochmaben Golf Club to compete for the Drennan Salver. The course was in excellent condition for the three teams of eight players who set out in perfect autumnal weather of clear blue skies and no wind to play the morning foursomes. By lunch Dumfriesshire had 3 points from their four pairings and Kirkcudbrightshire and Dumfriesshire 1½ points each. ORDER OF MERIT UPDATE

David Brodie (Wigtown & Bladnoch) secured the South of Scotland Order of Merit 2014 with one event to spare after his third place finish in the Lennox Trophy at Lochmaben on Sunday 13 September. His excellent form throughout the season makes David a deserved winner of the title, he has gained points in every event in which he has played. The Order of Merit title secures his place in the South team for next years Scottish Area Team Championship. David Brodie (Wigtown & Bladnoch) extended his lead at the top of the Order of Merit after the Douglas Maxwell Memorial Cup at Kirkcudbright at the weekend with his tie for fourth place and is now in a strong position to claim the title.
